[x], 303 pp. Bound in publisher's canary yellow cloth, paper title label to spine, yellow topstain, map printed to front pastedown. Near Fine with light wear and soiling to cloth and topstain, darkening to rear joint. Offsetting from jacket to free endpapers, bookplate to front free endpaper, and light toning to contents. In the scarce dust jacket, Very Good with sunned spine panel, moderate wear and soiling to exposed panels, and several tape repairs. Price on spine crossed out and new price written in ink below. Bruccoli & Clark, Vol. 2 p. 14. The first appearance of the acclaimed collection of modernist short stories centered around a small Ohio town, in much better than average condition. The book was published during the transitional period when jackets had been adopted but were disposable, intended only to protect the cloth before the sale. The Ohio Woman Suffrage Association, founded in Cincinnati in 1869, was one of the earliest state-level suffrage organizations. It was active for several decades. Like the NAWSA, the group defined itself as moderate, condemning the picketing actions of the National Woman's Party. Offered here is a poster from the campaign in favor of Constitutional Amendment no. 23 in 1912, which would have granted suffrage to women had it passed. Not located on OCLC as of March 2024.

J. H. HOWARD'S BEAUTIFUL & RICHLY COLORED ILLUSTRATIONS OF A NURSERYRHYME "DAME CRUMP AND HER PIG". SIX FULL-PAGE CHROMOLITHOGRAPHS -EACH INCLUDES DAME CRUMP WITHIN AN OVAL GILT BACKGROUND. A REAL STAND OUT. The front cover repeats one of the rich chromo illustrations inside and the back cover is anadvertisement for other McLoughlin titles: "Picture Books For Little Children."Size is Sq 4to, Each double-pg spread features a chromo recto - facing the rhyme verso with a brown line illus within the text. Nothing is printed behind these pages - so there are blankdouble spreads between. Inside pages are very clean. Front cover has some dust soiling - but still retains a brightness. Up at top edge is written lightly in pencil the date 1880. A very small corner chip on front cover does not affect illustration at all. Spine rub but intact --it was probably tightened with glue at some point. Inside front cover there is a crease- but it does not extend to the front cover. Poster could easily welcome a simple linen backing. Very good+. Henri-Georges Clouzot's nailbiting classic about desperate men attempting to deliver a shipment of nitroglycerin at the risk of their own lives. The film was first released in France in 1953 to great acclaim. This poster is almost identical to the French original of 1953 except for a change in the distributor logo.

This Cuban became influential in introducing and popularizing Latin music in the United States first by managing the band of his brother Don Azpiazu and then by taking the stage name Don Mario Antobal and forming "Antobal's Cubans," who toured the U.S. and became popular throughout the 1930s; he later founded a music publishing company.
