Rooseveltown, N.Y.: Akwesasne Notes, 1970. Near fine.. Poster, 22.5 x 17.5 inches. On cream stock, printed in red and green. Minor wear. Handsome Native rights poster produced by the newspaper Akwesasne Notes, a publication of the Mohawk Nation. The paper reproduced several of its centerfold pieces as separate posters in the 1970s. The present work depicts a young indigenous man near a totem pole, taken from an Edward Curtis photo; it is accompanied by a famous quote from Sitting Bull.
