View of Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney's statue 'Buffalo Bill - The Scout,' that is located in front of the Buffalo Bill Historical Center in Cody, Wyoming. Jack Ellis Haynes (1884-1962) began working in the family photographic business at a relatively young age and toward the end of 1916 he formally bought out his father's interest in the Yellowstone photography business and was awarded sole right to produce pictorial souvenirs. An accomplished photographer in his own right, Jack operated the park concessions and Saint Paul studios under the name 'J.E. Haynes' and then 'Haynes Inc.' (1937-1945). In 1945 Jack and Isabel moved the base of operations to Bozeman, and established Haynes Studios Inc.
