Description
[n.p.]: Robert J. Durant, 1996. Staplebound. Good. Two volumes: Durant's "Jim Schnabel," 17p., and Schnabel's "Captain Durant and the Borg Queen: a response to R.J. Durant's article, 'Jim Schnabel.'" 7p. Good. Each firmly bound with one staple, some stains at the edges, a large stain on the first page of Schnabel's response, general handling wear otherwise. An interesting mid-90s ufological tiff started by Durant's article in which he questions Jim Schnabel's motivations for participating in remote viewing training from Swann and Dames and then writing skeptically about remote viewing and Dave Morehouse. Schnabel's response rebuts many of Durant's attacks, with Schnabel defending himself by writing, "I am not on any 'side,' nor should I be. I call 'em as I see 'em. I think it is wrong to be influenced by considerations of 'what do the masses want to hear?' or--worse--'how shall I distort the truth to protect some ideology I hold dear?' Both of those, unfortunately, are aspects of the 'side' you have been assimilated into. With friends like that, the paranormal doesn't need enemies." From the collection of ufologist Tom Benson.
