Description
London:: William Tegg, 1854., 1854. Thick 8vo. xx, 736 pp. Engraved plates; preliminary leaves spotted. Original full black blind- and gilt-stamped morocco, gilt-stamped spine compartments, raised bands, gilt-stamped spine title, a.e.g., gilt inner dentelles, yellow endsheets; extremities showing some wear. Provenance: signature of Watts. Very good. With a modern fore-edge painting of a lady with her golfing gear set within an oval frame, painted as a vertical image. The upper and lower portions of the painting offer miniature golfing scenes, adding to the charm of this piece. No cost-codes are present, but the volume is consistent with all the other volumes that passed through Harrington’s (ca. mid-1990s.).
