LYNDON B. JOHNSON (1908-1973). Lyndon Baines Johnson was the Thirty-Sixth President.PS. N. d. N. p. A color photograph signed Lyndon B Johnson. It is inscribed To Abbie Rowe - a real pro and credit to his profession from his friend - Lyndon B Johnson. Abbie Rowe was the official White House photographer from 1941 to 1967. Due to an accident during his childhood, one of his legs was a foot shorter than the other. Johnson admired Rowes persistence in overcoming this hardship, bringing the two close together. In addition to this, Rowe was diagnosed with terminal cancer but continued to work and document the Johnson administration as long as his health permitted. This dedication led to Johnson personally presenting Rowe with a commemorative medal on his 61st birthday to honor Rowe's service in 1966. The photograph shows the two men smiling together looking at a picture held between them. This photograph is in fine condition.

Description
Carlton, Australia: Norstrilia Press, 1982. First edition. Fine/Near Fine. First edition, first issue dust jacket. [viii], 126 pp. Bound in publisher's dark blue cloth, spine lettered in gilt. Fine in Near Fine dust jacket, a little shelf worn and soiled but unfaded; foxing to verso. The acclaimed Australian writer's allegorical novel about a filmmaker who visits the vast open plains in the interior of the continent to gather inspiration for his project The Interior. It seems to be an alternate Australia he's discussing, though-- elaborately sketched out by the obsessive narrator. Is this Australia even supposed to be real or is it in his head? Does it matter? A puzzling, slim novella about Australian literature and identity. The New York Times once called the author "the greatest living English-language writer most people have never heard of.

Description
Vancouver (BC): Heavenly Monkey [and Nevermore Press], 2003. Limited Edition. Loose leaves presented in folio. Near Fine/Fine. George Kuthan. 4to. Preface by Robert R. Reid. Thirteen original Nevermore Press folded sheets as issued, printed in 1960, within a Chinese-yellow inner wrap, with three contemporary (2003) Heavenly Monkey folded sheets, all in a blindstamped wrap of St. Armand handmade paper. Housed in a deep red cloth-covered clamshell box with printed paper labels mounted on the front panel and spine. Of an edition limited to 50 copies, this is hand-numbered copy # 32. Signed by Robert Reid on the colophon, itself printed on an sheet from the original printing. First published by Nevermore Press, 1960, Kuthan's Menagerie of Interesting Zoo Animals, showcasing George Kuthan's multi-color linocuts of intriguing animals, put Robert Reid on the fine press map. The unbound sheets languished in the printer's shop until Reid and Heavenly Monkey bought them from an intermediary, and presented them here as a livre d’artiste, with addenda. Some offsetting to the pages opposite the linocuts. The 1960 sheet on which the 2003 colophon is printed features some old wrinkles, now mellowed; a dampstain, roughly 2 x 3 at its broadest, extends from the top right of front panel over to the top left of the rear panel. (Please see photos.) A sumptuous set.

Description
NY: Abrams, 2000. 4to.,92pp., more than 60 photographs in full color. Very good in dust jacket. "British artist Andy Goldsworthy, known for creating art outdoors and from natural materials, has now built a 2,278-foot stone wall at Storm King Art Center, a sculpture park on the Hudson River in Mountainville, New York. This sensitive and detailed response to the land - former farmland in an area rich in stone walls - is one of his most impressive and important sculptures. The book's stunning color photographs show the wall from every vantage point and in all four seasons, and document ephemeral work made around it. Kenneth Baker's essay considers the Storm King wall in the context of Goldsworthy's previous work, in particular the other walls he has made in the United States, France, and Britain.
