Description
New York: Mother Earth Publishing Association, 1911. Second Revised Edition. Octavo (19cm); light gray cloth, with titles stamped in black on spine and front cover; [5],6-277,[8]pp ads; tissue-guarded frontispiece portrait. Signed by Goldman in pencil on the front endpaper, dated 2/13/16. Hint of sunning and some faint finger-soil to spine, subtle darkening to upper board edges, with some offsetting to verso of front endpaper, and some board exposure to lower corner tips; contents clean; Very Good+, lacking the rare dustjacket. Stated "revised" edition of this collection of Goldman's essays (though we have not been able to discern any substantial additions or revisions between this and the first edition of 1910). Collects a dozen of Goldman's most important essays, most originally issued as pamphlets, including "Anarchism: what it really stands for;" -- "Minorities versus majorities" -- "The psychology of political violence" -- "Prisons: a social crime and failure" -- "Patriotism: a menace to liberty" -- "Francisco Ferrer and the modern school" -- "The hypocrisy of Puritanism" -- "The traffic in women" -- "Woman suffrage" -- "The tragedy of woman's emancipation" -- "Marriage and love" -- "The drama: a powerful disseminator of radical thought." With a biographical sketch of Goldman by Czech anarchist Hippolyte Havel. 84657.

Description
New York: Gagosian Gallary, 2006. A near-fine copy with some modest handling wear. 11 x 10 inches. 75 pages. Cloth; printed dust jacket. "In this volume, four distinct works by the important American sculptor Richard Serra are linked by a common theme: each is based on the relationship between the viewer and a horizontal or planar elevation on eye level. Elevations, Repetitions is a complex of 16 elements of different heights; Equal Weights and Measures is composed of six equal blocks of forged steel, rotated such that it's difficult to confirm that sameness. No Relief consists of two 60-foot, six-inch-thick horizontal slabs flush to the wall on opposite sides of a narrow room, compressing the elongated space. And Round is a forged steel work with a diameter of 84 inches and a weight of 50 tons, set on an unnerving slope. Serra's other recent projects include an eight-part permanent installation at the Guggenheim Museum, Bilbao and a Spring 2007 survey at The Museum of Modern Art" (the publisher).
