Description
Philadelphia, 1874. Very Good. 8p. Newspaper on decent newsprint. 59 cm. Later vertical fold. Splitting where folds intersect. Modest foxing and light soiling. Unopened along top edge. Announced itself as a Democratic family newspaper based on the principles of Jefferson. Other articles in this issue indicate that opposition to fair and equal treatment of African Americans was front and center among the causes that animated this Philadelphia newspaper. Probably a weekly. W. H. Witte may have been the editor or publisher.
