Description
Folio, newspaper, illustrated, 369-384 pp. Some chipping and soiling to edges and margins, normal aging and browning; otherwise very good. This issue provides some end of the Civil War coverage. The main article talks about the fate of Jefferson Davis. The cover features Secretary of State William H. Seward, and thee is also a large wood engraving of General William T. Sherman. A double-page engraving of Richmond is also included. Interestingly, there is a short article about "Base-Ball." Seems the Athletic Base-Ball Club of Philadelphia was coming to New York to play local teams.
