This is a black-and-white publicity photo of Kirk Douglas and George Hamilton as combatants in a dramatic still from MGM's "Two Weeks in Another Town", directed by Vincente Minnelli. It shows Douglas on the telephone, and Hamilton behind him holding a knife to his neck. Douglas has a long scar on his right cheek. A campy, though serious looking picture, it is inscribed near the bottom in black pen on light background, "Kirk Douglas For Judith '88". It is ready for presentation.

The book is a translation from the Swedish by A von Treskow. The author was Swedish Corwn Prince Oscar. Julius who wrote the introduction and notes spent three years in America examining the prison system. Upon returning to Prussia he succeeded in converting Prussia and several other German states to the Penna. system. Julius' career was one dedicated to public service and public health issues of hospitals and prisons life. He was one of the earliest and most successful German soical reformers.
