A very good copy with some moderate scuffing and wear to the binding.
Description
American: manuscript, ca 1840. Manuscript.. Original three quarter leather.. A very good copy with some moderate scuffing and wear to the binding.. 4to. A literate manuscript notebook of six separate lectures (sermons ?) on religious topics with notes in a separate hand. They are: 1] The Unity of God; 2] The Work of Christ; 3] The Work of Christ - The Atonement continued; 4] The Manner in which we become Partakers of the Benefit of Christ's Work; 5] Hermeneutics and Exegesis; 6] Questions on Church Government. There are a total of 131 pages of manuscript in a legible hand with occasional corrections. A mounted label on the front covers bears the name of T M Bibighaus in gilt in the middle of a small leather label with ornate scroll border. At the back of the book are several records of financial transactions dated 1844. The name across the front cover may be T[homas] M[arshal] Bibighaus who was a lawyer and served in the US House of Rep. between 1851 - 1853.
