Description
Kohala, Hawaii, 1942. Softcover. Typed script, n.d. ca 1942); 6 1/2" x 8 1/2"; pp. [8]; stapled leaves; minor creasing and a few nicks to fore-edge of pages; in about near fine condition. Though undated, the script for the order of service was most probably created in the early years of the Second World War, as several of the hymns and prayers specifically addressed prisoners of war, wounded soldiers, and those mourning lost loved ones. Archdeacon James Walker arrived in Hawaii in 1919 from England and was a constant presence in the lives of Episcopalians in North and South Kohala until his retirement in 1948 and was in charge of the Kohala Missions for most of those years.

They escape being eating by cannibals, and sail to somewhere in the Arctic, where they take refuge in an igloo. Their adventures take them to Japan, where they imitate geishas, and finally through Africa's riverbanks, until they return home, all without once seeing the Eiffel Tower. Program 9.25 x 12 inches, saddle-stapled, 4 leaves, with 2 loose sheets slightly smaller. Very Good plus, with light foxing and a few short creases.

Trade PB (B&W and color reproductions) This book "presents a fascinating colletion of the most ingenious designs and devices ever to represent a commercial product or serve. These two remarkable decades were times of sloganism, radio jingles, and visual puns. In terms of graphic design, the trademarks bridges the simplistic naiveté of the early century with the studied sophistication of the Madison Avenue approach. [This] is a book for the graphic designer and commercial artist, and will delight the nostalgia buff and collector of Americana." .
