This treatise details the cause of death of Robert Walpole, Lord Orford (1676-1745) from urological problems. The autopsy was performed by Ranby, a prominent surgeon, William Cheselden and Edward Hulse. Orford apparently died from a combination of kidney stones and prostate illness.

Two (2) vintage original 8 x 10" (20 x 25 cm.) black-and-white photos, both with mimeographed text and dated production code stamps on verso, one has a photo agency sticker on verso. Vincente Minnelli directs Kirk Douglas and Dahlia Lavi in one scene, and Douglas and Cyd Charisse in another, in his 1962 melodrama about a film shooting in Rome, an adaptation of Irwin Shaw's 1960 novel Two Weeks in Another Town.

An early photographic account of New England, each volume has a one-page introduction and 30+ black and white plates. Of especial interest to any of us who have lived or currently live in the areas pictured, as the changes over the past 100+ years have been seismic. ___DESCRIPTION: Five volumes, staple bound, original paper wrappers with titles embossed in gilt, five pages of text printed to recto only, 171 black and white plates with captions, all printed to recto only; oblong octavos (5 7/8" by 8"). ___CONDITION: All five volumes are in varying degrees of very good condition, the wrappers all display a bit of age toning but all are internally bright and complete with no prior owner markings, "New England Lakes" and "Rivers of New England" have some chips and tape repairs to the wrappers, with "Rivers of New England" lacking the back wrapper, otherwise an overall very good set of scenic New England views. ___POSTAGE: International customers, please note that additional postage may apply as the standard shipping charge does not always cover costs; please inquire for details. ___Swan's Fine Books is pleased to be a member of the ABAA, ILAB, and IOBA and we stand behind book we sell. Heiziman, regarding a man who must dispose of his store possessions on the way to the Mexican War: "Mr. Mchaffey having received a commission in the army has sold out his store to Misters I & W. B. Fleming of this place. Before he left he request me to write to you to know what shall be done with your stock of musical instruments, a memorandum of which I hereunto annex. He also desired to state to you that he expects soon to be in Reading when he will pay you the balance he owes you $26.97. The Misters Fleming are clever young men, if you are disposed to let the instruments remain with them on sale, be pleased to send me an order to that effect accompanied with a copy of the annexed bill. Let the order be so worded as to release Mr. Mchaffey from the amount." Follows is the list of music instruments with their approximate value (ex: 1 Flute- $1.50; 3 Violins- $3.75; etc... ).
