Hryhorii Luzhnytskyi (1903 - 1990) was a Ukrainian poet, author, scientist, publisher, and theater critic and historian. Immigrating to Philadelphia after WWII he continued writing, including his current book on the murder of the Polish communist general K. Swierczewski by UPA fighters, which later became the pretext for Operation Vistula (codename for the 1947 forced resettlement of 150 000 Ukrainians by the Soviet-installed Polish communist authorities).
