[xxx]; 331pp. Clean and sharp, very light bumping to spine ends and a little shelfwear; internally clean, bright red endpapers, bookplate to front pastedown, 6pp of black and white photographs; in a clean and striking example of the dustjacket with some very minor scuffing and wear, and a little soiling to the white rear panel. A very good, bright copy indeed. An examination of the work and methodology of the eccentric field anthropologst Franz Boas, whose unconventional style and prolific projects make a somewhat divisive figure. From the library of Nathaniel Tarn, noted poet, tranlsator, and professor of anthropology, with his bookplate.
