Notes, appendices, bibliography and index. Blue padded leatherette, gilt. Housed in a matching slipcase. A very fine copy. In 1848, the British Admiralty sent three expeditions in search of John Franklin. This work is the never-before-published eye-witness account of the least known of those expeditions. W. J. S. Pullen set out in boats from the base ship, HMS Plover, and ascended the MacKenzie River. Pullen wintered at Ft. Simpson and the following summer descended the MacKenzie, searching as far as Cape Bathurst before reascending the MacKenzie and returning to England via York Factory..
