New York: O. Judd Co., David W. Judd, Pres't, 1886. First edition, presentation copy. Hardcover. SIGNED. vi; 250pp. Octavo [19 cm] Original brown cloth with gilt title to the front cover and spine. Decorative endsheets. Folding map in back pocket. Black and white illustrations. Fair. The spine and covers are rubbed and damp stained on the top halves. The underlying boards are exposed at the corners. There are tiny losses from the cloth at the ends of the spine. The front hinge is broken. There is a previous owner's name along with an address on the front pastedown. The front free endsheet is detached, but present. The text block is cracked at the end. The first several pages have light foxing. The pages are mildly browned. The author has inscribed the book "with compliments of the author," on the front flyleaf.
