Paris., Aux Editions Jeanne Bucher., 1931. Planches de Salut with a preface by Tristan Tzara and 13 original etchings by Marcoussis. One of 60 copies on Arches, there were 10 on japon with an extra set of etchings on Arches; and 6 hors commerce from a total edition of 77. Folio: 12 1/8 x 15 1/4 . 13 original etchings with engraving including frontispiece, head piece and tail piece (varying in size from 202-204 x 238-241mm) + full margins (12 1/8 x 15 ¼), printed on China paper mounted on Arches in the original paper wrappers. Milet 66-78, The Artist and the Book 186, The Cubist Print p.133. Lafranchis 67-77, Rauch 167. Printer:Roger Lacouriere, etchings, Ducros and Colas, text. In Planches de Salut, Marcoussis pays homage some of his favorite writers, Baudelaire, Dostoyevsky, Rimbaud, Shakespeare, Gerard de Nerval, and Apollinaire. Marcoussis was born in Warsaw, Poland and educated at the University of Cracow. He emigrated to Paris in 1901 where he joined the Bande Picasso, The Cubists in 1910 and exhibited with the Section d'or in 1912. Contained in a lovely contemporary blue linen clam shell box with a printed label.
