Warszawa, Nasza Ksiegarnia, 1954. 4to oblong. 74 pp of drawings in color by children of Poland. First edition of 10,000 copies. Two typed sheets in English from the publisher on flyleaf explaining the genesis and meaning of the book, with English index list of the illustrations tipped in over the Polish index in the back. 8 text pages in Polish followed by the full page color illustrations by Polish children. First edition on the English explanation stated as 1955 with 10,000 copies. However, title page states publication date of 1954; copyright page states 1955. Some of the drawings are from the German occupation, and others are post-WWII. Powerful and poignant drawings. Hardcover book in blue cloth is in fine conditon. DJ in good condition in spite of some repaired tears. Otherwise fine. Attached to the end papers is a complete typed 2 page description of the contents in English. Also a loose letter describing the involvement of the Polish Embassy in sending this book to patrons. The last 4 pages is an index also in English of the titles of all 101 illustrations by the children. A very nice presentation copy with unusual additions by the Embassy of Poland.

Original string bound patterned cloth, with title label on each front cover. Volumes housed in publisher's blue cloth portfolio with two bone clasp closures, and title label on front board. This splendidly produced 3-volume set contains 150 large format color and b/w plates of textiles from Egypt representing the Greco-Roman, Coptic, Byzantine, and Islamic eras. Each plate has a caption in English and Japanese. A list of plates in English features at the beginning of the second volume. Minor and sporadic soiling along edges of portfolio. One bone clasp closure missing. Text in Japanese, captions in Japanese and English. Portfolio in overall good+, bindings and interior in very good condition.
