The dedication copy, inscribed by the poet: "For Raphael Weill, this unneutral book, with gratitude and affection, George Sterling. San Francisco, July 5th, 1916." The printed dedication reads: "To Raphael Weill / Chevalier of the Legion of Honor." With the two misprints noted by Merle Johnson (p. 474) corrected in ink by Sterling. Almost a third of the book (pp. 117-168) is a section of poems "On the Great War." BAL 18767. (BA).
