Description
New York: Covici, Friede, 1931. First Edition. Fine. First edition. Number 30 of a limited 391 copies signed on the title page by E. E. Cummings in green watercolor. 119 pp with 99 black and white plates of his art in charcoal, ink, oil, pencil, and watercolor - hence the acronymic title. Bound in publisher's rough burlap over boards with upper board stamped in silver; lacking the scarce glassine dust jacket; housed in a rough card cover slipcase, perhaps original but not mentioned by Firmage. Fine, the nicest copy of this fragile production we have ever handled, with light thumbing. A truly superlative copy of the writer and artist's monograph highlighting his artistic passion through a series of expressionist portraits of friends and figures like Charlie Chaplin, nudes, landscapes, and still lifes. Cummings always considered himself equally a painter and a poet, but his literary fame often overshadowed his visual art. A defining monograph that launched the genre of the "art book"; uncommon in such excellent condition. Firmage A10.

One hundred and fifty one years later, in a very different world, the United States signed prisoner transfer treaties with its neighbours, Canada and Mexico. Today, through additional bilateral treaties and multilateral treaties negotiated under the auspices of the Council of Europe and the Organization of American States, the United States has prisoner transfer treaty relations with 77 countries. This treatise, designed for prosecutors, defense attorneys and academics, describes in detail the legal basis and operation under these treaties from the perspective of the United States by the former Department of Justice official responsible for their initial implementation.

Description
New York: Random House, 1996. First edition. An unusual copy in that it has two jackets, one supplied. The jacket as published is on uncoated red textured paper and priced at $21. The supplied jacket is coated and is priced at $20, and stamped on back "PROOF". (These are generally only for internal use in advance of publication.) The original jacket is slightly crimped at the front, but still near fine; the supplied jacket is fine. Not really an issue point as the jacket was never "pulished", but as most of these jackets would not have survived (and would have been produced in small numbers to begin with) an interesting advanced state of the jacket. The book itself is very fine.
