Potassium cyanide had a number of applications when this article was published in 1877: it was used in photographic processes, gilding, and even in medicine. It is still used today by entomologists to collect specimens. Here, Joseph Jones rather harrowingly describes the results of potassium cyanide poisoning on various plants and animals, as well as people. 9.5'' x 6''.
