This edition focuses on the New York metropolitan area, including New York City, Long Island, and some of Connecticut. About 40 maps are included, along with many advertisements (one in color). This volume offers a trip down automobile "memory lane" featuring places and restaurants, and points of interest in the early days of motoring, that no longer exist.

Slight wear along the fore edge of the first two blank leaves; slight wear at the tips. A near fine and bright copy. Robert Gerstmann, 1896 - 1960, was born in Vienna and trained as an electrical engineer. In 1924 he emigrated to Chile, where he abondoned engineering in favor of photography, a passion he acquired in his youth. He traveled thoughout Chile and Bolivia and amassed several thousand glass plate negatives, many of which were produced in his books on Chile and Bolivia. Splendid photogravures of the Chilean people and landscape. In Spanish, German, French and English.
