Description
[Hollywood]: Warner Brothers, 1966. Very good.. Original vinyl record of radio spot advertisements for CHAMBER OF HORRORS, a TV movie that was spiced up for the big screen with additional gore and violence and a marketing campaign focusing on two technical "innovations" - the "Fear Flasher" and the "Horror Horn," both designed to warn the audience of impending violence. Billed as "The year's most startling entertainment innovation!", it nevertheless appears this gimmick never enjoyed widespread (or even another) use, but is an interesting example of the methods studios used to promote their films, particularly "B" movies, in the post-studio era. The LP includes four versions of the film's radio spots, all melodramatically touting the movie's supposed innovations. Unusual and ephemeral. 10'' x 10'' (sleeve). Single-side 10" 33-RPM vinyl LP record with orange label in (original?) brown paper sleeve. Sleeve edge-worn with old price penned to one side. Plays cleanly. Also includes 4 pages of mechanically reproduced script, 8.5" x 11" approx. printed recto only stapled at top left corner. Folded through center, with some light edge-wear and creasing.
