"The author discusses the attitude of the Rabbis towards the study of medicine and the education of Jewish doctors as well as the evolution of medicine as reflected in Rabbinical decisions. He deals with the social status of medical practitioners distinguishing between "Physicians, Leeches and Quacks," and describes their views on medical problems with their theories on the causation of disease." The book was republished in 1997. The author was a lecturer in Rabbinics and Jewish History at the Jews College in London. Dj slightly sunned and chipped. In good+ condition.
