Dustjacket is chipped and worn along the edges, with the deepest chip at the lower right corner of the rear panel; dust-soil to panels and flap folds, dampstaining to base of spine and lower edge, several tears and two tape mends verso, with light scratching around price at mid-spine; just Very Good. Anderson's scarce second novel centered around a dis-illusioned miner's search for meaning and order, who takes it upon himself to marshall the disorganized workers in his town into a disciplined, organized unit.
