Black buckram boards, with gilt lettering on the spine. Signed by both Richard Adams and illustrator John Lawrence on the title page. This a first edition of this delightful account of Adam's various travels in the natural environment. "' 'This', says Richard Adams of his "Nature Diary," is not a catalogue of rare and seldom seen things, but an authentic day-to-day record made during a calendar year. I simply write down what I saw or heard every day." Illustrated throughout in color and b/w by John Lawrence, who also illustrated Adam's "Watership Down." Laid in at the interior front cover is a pamphlet for an exhibition of the artwork from this book by John Lawrence, held 14 November - 24 December 1985. The jacket, binding and interior are all in fine condition.
