Description
Pamphlet, folio (12 1/4x8) unbound 6pp, and blank leaf. Faint marginal darkening, tiny chip to lower edge of page one and small tear to left side of title page, otherwise fine. As part of the agreement the tribe agrees to cease hostilities, respect the U.S. Government, and use their influence to promote peace in the region. For these concessions each family or lodge was granted $30 a year for twenty years. The chiefs that made this agreement for the tribe included AH-KE-TCHE-TAR-HON-SKAH (The Tall Soldier) and MAH-TO CHE-KAH (The Little Bear). Representatives for the U.S. included Newton Edwards, Major General S.R. Curtis, and Brigadier General H.H. Sibley. This large paper copy of the treaty was limited to 75 copies.
