Description
Boston: Jos. M. Wade, 1896. 1st. Original Wraps. Collectible; Very Good. The 1896 1st edition of this very uncommon, posthumously-published treatise by Madame Blavatsky on spirit-writing. "Dictated from the spirit world, upon the typewriter, independent of all human contact, under the supervision of G.W.N. Vost, to bring to light the things of truth, and affirm the continuity of life and the eternal activity of the soul immortal". And also on the title page: "Given to my Astral friend and associate Jos. M. Wade --H.P.B." A bright, solid example of a fragile publication. VG- in its pictorial wrappers, with light soiling to the panels and light chipping and creasing along the top-edges and at the spine crown. Still though, a sturdy, very presentable octavo. Scarce (not listed in Besterman, Price or Bibliotheca Esoterica).

New York: The MacMillan Co., 1929. lv, 490 pp. Reprinted 2002 by The Lawbook Exchange Ltd. ISBN-13: 9781584772552; ISBN-10: 1584772557. Atractive smythe sewn cloth bound hardcover with gilt stamped spine and front cover. New. $35. * This lucid, wide-ranging account traces the evolution of the philosophy of law and offers an introduction to its primary authors. Berolzheimer [1869-1920] is especially interested in the law's ability to serve as a progressive humanitarian force. This is evident, for example, in the contribution it has made to the emancipation of repressed social classes. Marke, A Catalogue of the Law Collection at New York University (1953) 900-901.
