Description
Editions des Chroniques du Jour, Paris 1930. One of 550 numbered copies of the French edition (total edition 1200 copies). Translated by De Francisco Amunategui. With four color pochoir by Picasso: Jeune homme et enfant 1906, Femme Assise 194, Les Musiciens 1921, Le Fils de l' Artiste 1925 and numerous illustrations in black and white, in full page. Text in French. Well preserved in the original orange cover and matching hard chemise with laces. The portfolio folder shows some wear, most notably along the spine, which exhibits several tears — including a larger split of approximately four inches at the lower section and a smaller tear at the top. The internal binding shows some separation in places but remains intact. The pochoirs are in very good condition overall, with only one sheet showing a faint smudge in the upper right margin.

Description
Cádiz: Revista Médica, 1847. First edition. Hardcover. Very good. 12mo. 224pp. followed by 29pp of appendices. Contemporary quarter leather, spine gilt, marbled ans embossed paper over boards, marbled endpapers and edges. Inner hinge and spine neatly mended, edges worn, else this is a very good copy. The scarce first printing of Castro's groundbreaking History of the Jews in Spain. A member of the Royal Academy, he was so impartial that he felt a need to remark on page 8: "Escribo esta historia sin pasion, ni artificio, como de cosas que nada me tocan. Ni soi judio, ni vengo de judaizantes" (I write this history dispassionately and without craft, as concerning things that do not touch me. I am not a Jew, nor am I of Jewish descent.) Unlike others who followed him, he condemned the Inquisition. His HIstory was translated into English in 1851 by Rev. Edward Kirwan, Cambridge. In Spanish. .
