Thirty-four with dust jackets. Bindings in brown, green, and blue cloth with gold lettering on spines. Blind stamped front boards on volumes 1 through 8. Vols 14,15, 48-50, 71,72 & 74 are ex-library. The set discusses American Jewish History and notable figures; includes directories of local and national Jewish organizations, Jewish statistics, and lists of Jewish periodicals and advertisers. Covers local Jewish life and organizational Jewish life. Also, contains reports of the Jewish Publication Society of America and the Annual Report of the American Jewish Committee. Illustrated with b/w photographic reproductions of portraits, and newspapers in some volumes. Minor age wear on bindings and bumping to some spines. Minor foxing to vol.1, with light water damage to vols 1-3,12, 51 and 57. Vol. 11 with small white paint stain to top edge and vol. 75 with black marker stain to top edge. In general these are tight copies in overall good to good+ condition. Requires extra shipping cost. Cyrus Adler was a leading figure in the 19th and early 20th century American Jewish community as well as an academic scholar. He served as president of Dropsie College in Philadelphia (now the University of Pennsylvania's Herbert D. Katz Center for Advanced Judaic Studies).
