Description
Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. No binding. Near Fine. [Los Angeles]: Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, [1943]. Vintage original 10 x 13" (25 x 32 cm.) black-and-white double weight glossy silver gelatin photo. Publicity blurb printed on verso, minor crease at bottom right corner, near fine. Glamorous band singer Marilyn Maxwell became a Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer contract player in 1942 and for several years played showgirls, bit roles and supporting parts. Hours were spent in the photography department where exquisite portraits such as this were made. Beautiful use of light and shadow in a portrait which, though not stamped, is likely by Clarence Bull.
