From wikipedia: An aggressive land speculator, Blount gradually acquired millions of acres in Tennessee and the trans-Appalachian west. His risky land investments left him in debt, and in the 1790s, he conspired with Great Britain to seize the Spanish-controlled Louisiana in hopes of boosting western land prices. When the conspiracy was uncovered in 1797, he was expelled from the Senate and became the first federal official to face impeachment.[4] Blount nevertheless remained popular in Tennessee and served in the state senate during the last years of his life.[3] Howes W 704.

Description
New York, Nashville, London, Toronto And Sydney: Howard Books. Fine in Fine dust jacket. 2011. First Edition; First Printing. Hardcover. 1451654405 . A Fine first printing of the first edition in a like dust-jacket; Frank Bailey's memoir of his time serving as Governor of Alaska under Sarah Palin is an intimate look at one family's blind allegiance to a controversial politician. Bailey provides a unique perspective on the many dramatic moments of Palin's governorship, from theinitial run-up to the 2008 election to the aftermath of the 2010 defeat. The book is also a revealing portrait of a family in turmoil, as the Palins grapple with Frank's alcoholism, his wife's mental illness, and the death of their young daughter.Despite their personal challenges, the Palins remained devoted to their ideology and the governor's mansion. As Bailey reveals, their unwavering faith in Palin and her policies led to some of the most consequential years in Alaska history. Blind allegiance is a deeply personal story of faith, family, and politics, and it is a compelling account of one family's struggle to survive in the highest reaches of power.; 8vo; 383 pages .

Description
Salt Lake City, UT: Torrey House Press, 2025. First edition. Paperback. New. Octavo. [20.5cm]. Pictoral wraps. "Things I Didn’t Do is an intimate and epic reckoning with the places and the people who shape our lives. Ryder Mikkelson’s life changed forever the day he fell from a loaded pack mule high in the Book Cliffs of eastern Utah. He was seven years old, and some things would never quite be the same. The way he walks. How he rides a horse. The way he looks at a family photograph. Even so, Ryder grows up surrounded by the love of friends and family, cultivating his talents and building a life he’s proud of. But ghosts never fully depart. Years later, when Ryder’s twin daughters return home from college with unsettling news, long-buried questions resurface, and Ryder must face truths he has spent a lifetime avoiding."
