Description
Liberty, MO: Wm. D. Wymore, 1869. Printed broadside, 7 3/4 x 11 3/4, employing several sizes and styles of type, including bold capitals for the head. Wymore (1835-1894) apparently took over the "Thompson House" Stables from a relative, George W. Wymore, who had established the business in the late 1840s. This copy appears to be a proof, with an editing mark in ink, changing the March date to "15" from a single digit. Not recorded on OCLC. Snag in the center affecting one word, soiled; still a good example of a rare illustrated trade broadside. (#5047).

Rome: Edizioni Quasar, 1976. First edition. Cloth. Very Good. 32 cm; 424 pages, with 120 photo reproductions in color and 460 in black-and-white. Text in English. Bound in cloth in illustrated dust jacket. Some very slight discoloration at edges of dust jacket, but still about fine. The Pigorini Museum in Rome has one of the world's most important collections of prehistoric and ethnographic material. "With the publication of The Pigorini Museum, a large body of prehistoric and ethnographic material has finally been put on record. Besides the importance of its comparative information to scholars, it introduces the general reader to one of the world's most little-known but richest museums." -- W. T. McLintock, University Museum, Philadelphia.
