Quarto size, 671 pp. This hefty and thorough reference work contains information on the temperance movement and the "drink question", as a rising tide of anti-alcohol sentiment, largely led by religious groups, grew in the United States; the volume includes information about legislation on the federal and state levels, licensing to sell liquor, and prominent players in the politics and advocacy for temperance.
