[4] leaves, 1-[20]pp (Text), 50 leaves of plates numbered 1-50 (Vol. 1); [2] leaves, 21-38pp (Text), 50 leaves of plates numbered 51-100 (Vol. 2); [8], 39-54pp (Text), 50 leaves of plates numbered 101-150, [1] leaf (Vol. 3). Original string bound patterned cloth, with title label on each front cover. Volumes housed in publisher's blue cloth portfolio with two bone clasp closures, and title label on front board. This splendidly produced 3-volume set contains 150 large format color and b/w plates of textiles from Egypt representing the Greco-Roman, Coptic, Byzantine, and Islamic eras. Each plate has a caption in English and Japanese. A list of plates in English features at the beginning of the second volume. Minor and sporadic soiling along edges of portfolio. One bone clasp closure missing. Text in Japanese, captions in Japanese and English. Portfolio in overall good+, bindings and interior in very good condition.
