Two leaves are untrimmed in order to preserve contemporary relevant marginalia. Eels deplores the prevalence of false religions. "Some by dividing the inhabited World into thirty Parts find that nineteen of them are possessed by Heathens," some of them "the Religion of the Mahometans." The Jews, "once the only Covenant People of God ... are become a Proverb of Reproach." One of the most important functions of Rulers is to nurture the practice of "true Christian religion."
