Charcot writes his friends about their upcoming exams exclaiming, "You must have your two feet on the moon!...How in the world do you expect me to know the subject?" He suggests the possible subjects and indicates, "As for the Professor who will give the exam , you never know ahead of time...If by any chance you knew him too we could try to do something...." He draws a sketch of two feet off the ground in the lower right corner and another more detailed sketch with several components in the upper left corner. He signs, "J. B. Charcot." Condition: The card has been folded in center. Autograph Letter Signed, in French, 2 pages on one printed address card measuring 4 1/2 by 3/1/2 inches, Paris, "Monday evening," Sept. 29, 1885, the year Charcot completed his studies in Natural Science. He then went on to study medicine from 1891 to 1895. His famous father was neurologist Jean-Martin Charcot. Jean-Baptiste Charcot is recognized for his significant explorations in the Antarctic region which began in 1903.
