Light wear to the lower part of the upper board else a fine copy. Inscribed on the half title: "To E. W. Marshall with all best wishes from Edmund Dulac. 1913." And with a two page ALS to Marshall: "Please accept this little souvenir of the building of the studio... Yours sincerely, Edmund Dulac." And with an original pencil sketch on the half title by Dulac. .

All edges gilt. The pages are printed with red linear borders. Good plus. There are small splits in the cloth at the spine ends. The text block is cracked at the title page, and the last page is adhered to the rear pastedown. There are very tiny stains in the fore edge margins of the pages at the beginning. With numerous illustrated plates accompanied with tissue guards. Illustrations by Anton von Werner. The fourth German edition with illustrations by von Werner of Von Scheffel's opera.
