Hartford: Brown and Gross; New York: D. Appleton and Co, 1860. Hardcover. Very Good. 264p. Original blue cloth; Gilt lettering and decorations. 22 cm. All edges gilt. Wear at ends on backstrip and at cover covers with loss of some cloth. Minor staining on coves wihich is still rather brightly blue. INSCRIBED by author on first interior flyleaf ("Mrs. Amelia Terry with the best wishes for her happiness, from her friend L. H. Sigourney Hartford. July 24th 1861"). An online search turned up an Amelia Smith, 1830-1893, who married an Oliver Grant Terry, 1809-1873, on July 24, 1861 suggesting the possibility that this was a wedding gift. Poetry. Signed copies of her books appear to be uncommon.
